چکیده
Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is a promising technology being considered for future wireless communications due to its ability control signal propagation. This paper considers the joint active and passive beamforming problem an IRS-assisted radar, where multiple IRSs are employed assist surveillance of targets in cluttered environments. Specifically, we aim maximize minimum target illumination power at locations by jointly optimizing beamformer radar transmitter phase-shift matrices IRSs, subject upperbound on clutter each scatterer. The resulting optimization nonconvex solved with sequential procedure along semidefinite relaxation (SDR). Simulation results show that additional line-of-sight (LOS) paths created can substantially improve robustness against blockage.

Passive and Active Glenohumeral Joint Stiffness
1. Introduction It is not clear how different portions of the capsuloligaments and muscles contribute to GH stability. Since GH instabilities occur frequently in various shoulder injuries, it is important to understand the restraining forces provided by various structures in the GH-joint. A better understanding of the GH stiffness will also help improve existing shoulder models by including GH ...
متن کاملGeneralized Cramer-Rao Bound for Joint Estimation of Target Position and Velocity for Active and Passive Radar Networks
In this paper, we derive the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) for joint target position and velocity estimation using an active or passive distributed radar network under more general, and practically occurring, conditions than assumed in previous work. In particular, the presented results allow nonorthogonal signals, spatially dependent Gaussian reflection coefficients, and spatially dependent Gaussian ...
متن کاملMIMO radar clutter mitigation based on joint beamforming and joint domain localized processing
In this article, we propose a space–time adaptive processing scheme via a generalized sidelobe canceler (GSC) architecture for airborne multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. This scheme employs the waveforms extracted by the matched filter bank that is cascaded at the receive end and utilizes digital beamforming technique to synthesize a certain number of transmit–receive beams, therefor...
متن کاملRobust adaptive beamforming for MIMO monopulse radar
Researchers have recently proposed a widely separated multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar using monopulse angle estimation techniques for target tracking. The widely separated antennas provide improved tracking performance by mitigating complex target radar cross-section fades and angle scintillation. An adaptive array is necessary in this paradigm because the direct path from any trans...
